From the episode: Falling Slowly, Smart and Stupid, Designated Survivors
Singers: Tandy Miller, Mike Miller
Voices: Will Forte, Jason Sudeikis

"Falling Slowly" is a song that was written, composed, and performed by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová. The song is best known for its appearance in the 2007 film Once.

In the episode of the same name, after Tandy and Mike stop fighting, the brothers bond over their love of karaoke and sing the song six times, much to the irritation of Melissa and Erica

After everyone believes Mike has the virus, when he coughs up blood in "Smart and Stupid", Tandy sleeps next to Mike in his quarantined bubble, where they sing the song once more before falling asleep.

The original version of "Falling Slowly" from Once is heard in "30 Years of Science Down the Tubes" and in "The Blob" in montages of Mike giving Tandy a haircut.

"Falling Slowly" Lyrics[]

Mike: I don't know you, but I want you all the more for that

Tandy and Mike: Words fall through me, always fool me

And I can't react

Mike: You have suffered enough and warred with yourselves

It's time that you've won. [during beginning of interlude]

[continued interlude]

Tandy and Mike: Take this sinking boat and point it home

We've still got time

Raise your hopeful voice

You have a choice

You made it now

Mike: I don't know you, but I want you all the more for that
