We Didn't Start the Virus
From the episode: Skidmark
Singers: Phil Miller
Voices: Will Forte

"We Didn't Start the Fire" is a song by Billy Joel. Its lyrics include brief, rapid-fire allusions to more than 100 headline events between March 1949 and 1989, when the song was released on his album Storm Front. The song was a No. 1 hit in the US.

When Phil Miller throws a party for the group in "Skidmark", Phil plays the song on a keytar while singing his own version of the song called "We Didn't Start the Virus". The song includes multiple callbacks to past events in the show.

Two, three, four...

All alone, oh, my Lord, then you saw my billboards

You came to Tucson, cause of me

I was Phil, now I'm Tandy

Met Carol at a camp

Melissa next, oh, what a champ

Todd, Gail, Erica

Then new Phil, rest in peace

Kicked out of Tucson

Found a group in Malibu

Pitbull's yacht blown away

What else do I have to say?

We didn't start the virus

It was always burnin'

Till the world's been turning

We didn't start the virus
